Mary Baum

I'm a traditionally trained art director and writer who builds brands that grow margins - then develops integrated marketing campaigns that grow revenues. * A Mac user since 1987, I'm passionate about the web and obsessed with @font-face. * A recovering GoLive wysiwyger, I now advocate designers coding the way a reformed smoker talks about lung cancer. * But I also know that it's copy - emotional, relevant copy about a customer's deepest fears and desires - that really moves the merchandise.

I've been PRACTICING design for, well, a while now. Some days you feel like you've got this design thing by the throat, and other days you feel completely clueless. Maybe that's one of the things that makes it interesting. Lately most of my inspiration has been coming from design fields outside of the communications industry. I find Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design great creative fuel; FUNCTIONAL solutions influencing what I do on a daily basis and challenging me to make my solutions equally functional. That's what I mean by PRACTICING and hopefully evolving, so that, at some point, the "by the throat" days outpace the clueless ones. I'm presently an Associate Creative Director with Falk Harrison.

I run a boutique creative firm called Tiny Couches. We think Chorizo should partner with bacon to take over the world, and the zombie apocalypse is an actual possibility. In our free time, we smoke menthol cigarettes, drink aged scotch, and perform bad-ass creative for people who give us money.

Steph Terry

My name is Steph Terry. Besides laughing, design is one of my favorite things. I love what I do and I think it really shows in my work. I am a self-motivated and enthusiastic designer who has an increasing interest in working with and learning from others. I have done mostly print work, but I have some experience with the digital stuff. I'd love to learn more digital because it seems like we can't get away from it. I hope to continue to grow as a designer, further my skills and experience, while making friends along the way.

Steve Mahn

Art Director – Hughes

Steven Darby

My name is Steven Darby. Only my relatives call me “Steven.” Everyone else calls me “Darby.” I introduce myself as “Darby,” because “Steven” tends to degenerate into “Steve,” or “Steve-o,” which are names better suited to someone other than myself. You can call me Darby, unless, of course, we are related. I try to focus on print work, but I am interested in designing for all sorts of media and applications. I know a little about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things. I think that is part of being a good designer. I do take my work very seriously, but I try my best not to be arrogant; a character trait which plagues my field.

Unsanctioned Garbage Party
