Facebook Makes Us Go "Huh?"

Facebook has just now released their first advertisement in an international campaign helmed by W+K. In fact, in just watching this video for a few moments, you can almost tell it's perhaps the same team that also executed the wonderful Nike "London" spots this past summer. It's a testament to W+K and their production company that they are able to concept and film these universally introspective videos with amazing, documentary-style footage that can touch even the stoniest of souls, but the copywriting and chair comparison falls a little flat in our opinion. We're patiently awaiting the spoofs.

And then, here's a Facebook story from the beginning of the month. Focusing on actual stories and benefits that the service has provided is where we would put our advertising focus in the future. The brand overview spots seem a little light in comparison.

I really love this series... I'm a huge fan of brand documentaries and these are elegant and emotional. I think W+K did a great job.

My favorite is the one from August called "REMEMBERING" featuring the guy who got meningitis.
