The Winning Logo of the 99Designs Ebay Redesign
"The winning design achieves the clean, “trustworthy” look that eBay sought by eliminating text overlap, allowing for ample negative space and invoking the authoritative connotations of a stamp or seal. At the same time, it preserves the previous logo’s funky, 1960s-inspired personality through an anatomically suggestive extension of the y’s “tail.” It also resembles neon tubing -- another richly connotative staple of mid-century signage. The design works well in eBay’s traditional colors as well as in monochrome."
