Egotist Website Feature Requests
Hey gang. Great start here. Happy to see some local folks dipping their toes in. A couple suggestions:
1. To the end that one of the site's goals is to encourage conversation, a common blog/form feature can help folks know when one is going on: Comment subscription (choose to receive notification when someone responds to a thread where you've commented) or alternatively a "comments" RSS feed separate from the main feed.
2. It's late. We're overworked. Or drunk. Whatever...typos are inevitable. The ability to edit your own comments would be nice.
Comments
We are definitely listening to ideas like these and many others all the time. One great thing about The Denver Egotist becoming The Egotist Network (and bringing us into the fold) is that we can more easily justify the cost associated with developing custom features like comment editing and subscription.
Our list of future enhancements to work on is growing by the second, and these are great suggestions that we'll throw in the mix.
Maybe the forum comments/posting sidebar on the home page might help increase traffic and communication to the forum postings as well. I obviously only say that because I just posted a forum topic that I think is interesting to the community ;) hahaha
That's a good idea, too. We actually are planning on highlighting the thread you started very shortly.
I'd love to see Facebook Connect. It was simplify the login process... and plus, you'd be able to tell your friends about the snarky comments you left at the Egotist!
