In the most recent job post for Art Director at Brown Shoe, we stated that "Ready to get rid of multiple accounts and trade all of your clients for one?"
Apparently, our assumptions about the role we're wrong. Here's Brown Shoe's Creative Director, Rob Fieldhouse helping us out with a little clarity:
Brown Shoe was able to place over 100 million pairs of shoes on the feet of men, women and children lastyear generating in excess of $2.5billion in sales; we are a company with extraordinary consumer reach and a diverse, evolving brand portfolio. We offer variety, excitement and value with footwear for every consumer - sophisticated fashion with Via Spiga, Sam Edelman and Vera Wang Lavender Label, comfort and style with Naturalizer and Franco Sarto, the trusted comfort heritage of Dr. Scholl's Shoes, and celebrity artist collaborations like Carlos Santana and pop superstar Fergie.
Our Creative Services department has recently undergone a considerable evolution; 5 new hires including a new Creative Director, as well as the expansion of our strategic reach through a newly created position: Manager, Innovative Projects. The energized and talented team is seeing considerable success across our brand’s creative and is increasingly being involved with high profile corporate and externalprojects.
The department is a fun, dynamic and exciting place to work with opportunities to work on 360° creative, travel, take advantageof continued learning, as well as attending awards, conferences and fashionfunctions. While this is not an advertising environment, the creative department operates though agency values, placing considerable emphasis on conceptual creative, team driven projects, client presentations, and collaborative critique. Our brand mix ensures variety of work, while the strength and integrity of our company ensure a secure, enjoyable and challenging work environment.
We're happy that Rob was able to clear the air and give us a little more information on Brown Shoe and their Creative Department. For all future employers, feel free to get creative with your job postings and fill us in on your company a little bit more if you'd like.
