• Throw a Big Enough Party with @BrutonStroube and You'll Go Viral

    / Comments (1)

Four Kegs with Legs in and we've officially gone viral thanks to the creative magicians at Bruton Stroube for redefining the studio/agency party. Still don't understand how great this shindig was? Take a little stroll down the popularity sidewalk of the world wide web and you'll start to get the picture.

And many more sites we didn't feel like taking the time to show.

No pressure for the upcoming Kegs with Legs...
*Seriously though - future KwL may not end up on Gizmodo, but they don't all need to be knock-out, slowed-down crazy-fests like last week's. Having 11 Kegs is a good idea though. Take note.*

  • One Week Left to Fund @PixelPressGame on Kickstarter

    / Comments (0)

With one-week and 5% left to go, it doesn't seem too unlikely that PixelPress will be financed, but it hasn't exactly been a sure thing the entire time - incrementing equally with the length of the funding period. This seems about right with how incredibly detailed and expertly planned this Kickstarter attempt has been.

    Here's an update from Robin:
    • Currently at 95% of our $100k Goal - ends Thursday next week, June 13th
    • We'll be at E3, showing off our Pax-Man prototype. We'll have a couple T-Shirts to hand out.
    • We did a live stream the other day where we talked about how the Pixel Press platform could be used to draw an entire Metroid game in the future. It's super long but some really cool discussions going on between our team, a video game design teacher, and our community via chat
    • We've been enjoying some video and screenshots of Pixel Press and Minecraft from some community members.
    • Part of larger St. Louis community video game effort.

An interesting blog on how PixelPress came to be.

    Fund it on Kickstarter.

  • The Beauty of Space Photography - @PBSOffBook

    / Comments (0)

Space presents a fantastic mystery to human life. Unfathomably large, with characteristics that defy our experience and understanding, the stars have perplexed and amazed humanity for our entire recorded history, and likely before. In the present, astrophysicists and astronomers are aggressively studying the universe in an attempt to solve critical scientific and philosophical questions. One of the primary tools for measurement and observation is imaging using cameras connected to powerful telescopes on Earth and in space. And although it's not the primary motivation for photographing space, beauty is one of the most intriguing byproducts. Images of space communicate the grandeur of the universe, and spark essential curiosities about what may be out there waiting for us once we make our way into the stars.

The people who brought you a revolutionary simple way to (market &) buy razors are back with a product for helping real men cope with number two. We love the product direction and it's a no brainer for anyone familiar with the three S's, but the production value, timing and painful smirking of the spokesman makes this one just short of capturing the viral baton.

You think with all that coin they pulled in from Dollar Shave Club, they would've spent more time perfecting their second video & offering...

  • Slo-Mo Phantom Photo Booth from #KegsWithLegs SUPERCUT - @BrutonStroube

    / Comments (0)

There was absolutely zero hyperbole used in any of our prior promotion done for this event. Bruton Stroube studios was the place to be last Thursday and if you weren't, all you can do now is weep… from laughter and sheer joy while watching this tomfoolery take place in the slowest of slo-mo's.

Last week we hosted an open house-- part of The St. Louis Egotist's Kegs With Legs (a traveling happy hour for ad industry folk). We wanted to take the opportunity to make this into something memorable, so we brought in a Phantom Miro and let folks run wild with it cranking away at 1500fps. The following is a compilation of what those folks got into in about 5 hours with the booth… Oh, and we had 11 kegs of beer to fuel the mayhem.

  • Kickstart This: Home – The 50 State Poster Project

    / Comments (0)

Home is an interesting project by Nathan Hoang, in which he seeks to do a photographic documentation of all 50+1 states (includes D.C.) along with a list of why people call their state "Home" in the shape of the state. His goal is to travel all 50 states (plus D.C.) over three months, talk to locals and transplants and learn why they love their state and why it’s home. At the end of the project, using photos he took and posters he created, Nathan will make and print a photo book that illustrates each state’s uniqueness. Sound cool? Kickstart it here.

  • Instagram is...

    / Comments (0)

Here's a fairly interesting short film on the impact that Instagram has had on its users over the past few years. We like the idea that community is such a major part of what the service is about. We also like that they come from the angle of motivating people to get out from behind the computer and connect over the act of image making. The film is a Technopaul Production and was directed by Paul Tellefsen. You can see a more credits and info after the jump.
